Adopt Older Dogs!

Adopt Older Dogs!

When we think about pet adoption, we generally want to adopt younger dogs, or puppies; so, we can learn and grow with them. However, ASPCA is encouraging future pet owners to consider adopting senior dogs this November. Here are reasons why it's best to adopt an older dog rather than a puppy.

For starters, older dogs do not teeth or pee anywhere on anything at any time. Senior dogs listen better and will be able to pick up on learning techniques quicker. (Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!) Most older dog breeds will also be more mellow than young dogs but will still be able to walk, hike and play with owners.

Approximately 670,000 dogs are euthanized in the United States each year because the shelter deems them to be un-adoptable or taking up too much space for too long. When considering pet adoption, choose to adopt older dogs to find them a forever home. After all, they still have a lot of life to live!

Throughout November, new dog owners will receive discounts on dog fence kits from EasyPetFence.com. Call EasyPetFence.com to learn more.
