Adopt Shelter Pets Day!
Today is National Shelter Pet Day, a call to action for future pet owners to consider adopting dogs from no-kill animal shelters.
It's a myth that you cannot find a 'normal' or 'healthy' dog from a local animal shelter or animal rescue. In fact, some dogs brought into shelters are there because their pet owners simply cannot care for them any longer. It is true that some animals were abused, and some were neglected; but isn't that more reason to adopt a dog from an animal shelter?
Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats). It's time to save animals and find them forever homes.
