United Airlines Dog Dies

United Airlines apologized on Tuesday after a dog died on a fight when the the pet owner was forced to place her dog in the overhead compartment. The pet owner was adamant that she did not want to place her young French Bulldog above her head; but the flight attendant forced her to comply.

The pet owner, whose identity is being withheld, was taking care of her infant when the dog's barking fell quiet.

Placing animals in the overhead compartment is against the airline's policies which say 'pets are required to travel in carriers that “must fit completely under the seat in front of the customer and remain there at all times.”
