#CleartheShelters Event
Animal Shelters across the nation are participating in the ultimate animal advocacy campaign to find furrever homes for dogs and cats in animal shelters.
On August 19, 2017, shelters in over 20 states will be lowering or dropping adoption rates for new pet owners. The event will only last for one full day. This year marks the second anniversary of the national pet event.
In 2016, more than 53,000 pets were adopted across the nation, thanks to the campaign's attention. Every year, more than 7.6 million animals are placed in animal shelters and approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized because they are denied by future pet owners.
This Senior #Pets Month, EasyPetFence.com asks that individuals consider adopting older dogs and cats. These animals need extra care; but they still have a lot of life left in them. They will require additional exercise, regular veterinarian visits, a strict nutritional diet, and extra patience as they process their surroundings and tend to lack hearing. But, they are potty-trained and are tame compared to puppies.
