Hurricane Irma Pet Tips
While there isn't much we can do to predict severe weather, or stop hurricanes from inviting themselves to our areas, there are things we can do to protect our home goods, families and pets. Here are pet care tips to get Floridians through Hurricane Irma:
Water
Pets need plenty of fresh drinking water, daily. Pet owners will need to get at least 2-3 gallons of water per animal which is enough to last about four days.
Pet Food
Pets owners should get at least one week of food for their pets. That's about 7-14 cans of cat food for the cat owners.
Cat Litter
Cats need ample supply of cat litter to get them through the week.
Fencing
Dog and cat owners that have purchased from EasyPetFence.com may decide to dismantle their pet fence until the high winds pass their area. The fence can always be set-up at a later date.
Bring Pets Inside
This should go without saying, but do not leave outdoor pets outside. Hurricane Irma will be a Category 4 when it hits Florida later this week.
