Ohio Drivers Pet Notice
A village in Ohio is making changes to the driving rules.
'The Village of Mantua, southeast of Cleveland, has adopted a new distracted driving law that includes writing, sending, or reading a text and the use of a cellular device for internet-based interactions a primary offense. Also, drivers will not be allowed to hold an animal or allow an animal to distract their ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.' (News 8)
An officer can cite drivers for holding dogs or being distracted by their pets. It's important to keep dogs at ease while driving or leave them at home! Drivers already have enough to worry about with all the wildlife on the road. In fact, fall is prime season for deer movement; and they cause the most traffic accidents.
It's time to be smart on the road. Keep this in mind if you are an Ohio resident and pet owner.
