Ready For Pet Adoption?
According to a NECN article, The Second Chance Animal Center wants perspective pet owners to ask themselves three questions before adopting pets:
- Can we make the time to properly take care of an animal and help enrich its life, with plenty of time for exercise, grooming, training, and other needs?
- Is our household high-energy or low-key, and what type of pet best fits that lifestyle?
- Do we have disposable income sufficient to cover vet bills, boarding, food, and other costs that may arise down the road—including potential emergencies?
If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you are ready for pet adoption; and when better to do it than this weekend during the Clear the Shelters event - at select animal rescues and humane societies across the United States.
Perspective pet owners will need to have plenty of fresh drinking water for pets as well as healthy dog and cat foods; toys; and a large area for pets to play. Consider fencing in yards to train animals and provide them with a secure area for outdoor playtime.
Clear the Shelters is a national movement to match shelter animals with perspective pet owners. The event will take place on August 18, 2018.
