Mystery Pet Disease
A bacteria spread through animal saliva is causing fear in pet owners and making them want to give up their pets.
Capnocytophaga Canimorsus is a common bacteria in pets that is spread through saliva and has led to several human amputations and one death since 2015. The pet owners with illnesses state that their own pets have nipped at them and the bacteria was found in their bloodstream. While harmful to humans, the bacteria is not to pets.
The mystery pet disease has the same pattern among all of its victims: flu-like symptoms. Doctors are still researching what causes the infection and how to attack it.
People who abuse alcohol or have diabetes and cancers are best to stay away from active dogs that may try to nip at them.
